More is More for Me
I research everyting I buy sooo much. It’s how I keep my brain entertained, and it does well for me in the long run. This DM screen was no exception. I’ve seen many screens that have helpful information, but for running my first campaign, I knew I was going to need as much quick reference as possible.
I was (and am still) learning a lot of game mechanics. I like knowing the location of things, and even having a quick reference of player info. This DM screen allowing me to create my own inserts was huge.
The DM Screen features 8 slots. It does this with two foldable flaps on the left and right. Here is a list of what I do with the 8 slots:
- Slots 1 and 2 (behind the left flap) are for the printed map I made from an interactive map I found of the forgotten realms.
- Slot 3 I have my session planning sheet that I use to plan out the expected conversations, actions, rolls, etc.
- Slot 4 I use to have my recap of the last session. I do this in slot 4 because my laptop tends to cover this a little during game play. Since I only use the recap during the beginning, it works out okay.
- Slot 5 is where I keep my 5E Mechanics Cheat Sheet for quick reference.
- Slot 6 is for my My Character Cheat Sheet
- Slot 8 is where I have a map of the current city
- Slot 9 I actually don’t have anything yet, but I’m sure as the sessions go on, I’ll find something ๐
